Film Posters

One of my favorite types of design work is doing film posters.  I get to watch the film a few times, make some notes, and then come up with a concept that not only captures the feel of the story, but makes it enticing enough to lure people to the theater.  I love coming up with the caption, too.  Finding that clever line that encapsulates the story.  And of course, I can’t resist eating popcorn while watching the film and designing the poster.  Gotta get yourself in the mood….extra butter anyone?

Death Before Sunrise
I started with a photo from the film, but the cell bars were pretty plain, and not too dramatic. Had to create some new ones in my 3D program that had a little more meat on them.

The Inner Light
A lot of layering in Photoshop for this one.

Under the Influence
Broken glass, bad road and tire tracks. Sounds like a caption for a another movie!  A lot of 3D work on this one.
